Paneer Butter Masala

Hi Friends,

Finally made some time to catch a glimpse of my blog! Found lot of drafts sitting there and thought of publishing few of them.Will start with Paneer Butter Masala 🙂 . I was not a big fan of paneer but lately started liking it ! Thanks to my son and hubby 🙂 . It doesn’t need a lengthy preparation and sometimes I do it in pressure cooker too. Check out my recipe for sure!

Preparation Time:  30 minutes
No of Servings: 4

Ingredients:

Paneer: 500 gms
Onions Big: 1
Tomatoes: 4
Coriander Leaves: few
Cashews: 15-20
Turmeric: pinch
Bay Leaf: 1-2
Green Chilies: 1-2
Red Chili Powder: 1/2 tsp.
Coriander Powder: 1 tsp.
Garam Masala: 1 tsp.
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tbsp.
Kasuri Methi: 1 tbsp.
Butter: 2 tbsp
Oil: 1 tbsp.
Salt: As per taste
Water: 1 cups

Method:

  • Thaw paneer if it’s frozen and cut it into cubes.
  • Soak 15-20 cashews in warm water while you do the preparations.

 

 

 

 

  • Wash and cut onions.

 

 

 

 

  • Make fresh paste of ginger-garlic pieces.

 

 

 

 

  • Wash and cut tomatoes roughly and blend them in mixer.
  • Make a fine paste of cashews and keep it ready.
  • Heat a pan with 2 tbsp of butter and 1 tsp of oil.

 

 

 

 

  • Once it’s heated up,fry bay leaves and add onions to it. Fry them till they change color.

 

 

 

 

  • Add ginger-garlic paste, green chilies and turmeric to it and fry them for a minute.

 

 

 

 

  • Now add the tomato purée and fry it till raw smell goes off (3-4 minutes).

 

 

 

 

  • Add cashew paste and mix it them. Let it cook for another 3-4 minutes.

 

 

 

 

  • Now add coriander powder, red chili powder , garam masala ,salt and required water to the mixture.Let it cook for 2-3 minutes.

 

 

 

 

  • Finally add paneer cubes and mix it well.

 

 

 

 

  • After a minute, add kasuri methi and turn off the heat.

 

 

 

 

  • Garnish it with ginger pieces, coriander leaves .
  • Serve it hot with rotis/puri/Biryani/Veg pulov.
